A practical guide for company admins — 2026 edition
This guide focuses on the Gemini Enterprise solution, as the Gemini for Workspace does not support MCP connections
For Gemini Enterprise, the Talkpush MCP is added as a custom data store inside a Google Cloud organization — so setup is primarily an admin task. Once an admin has wired up the data store and connected it to the app, individual users only need to authorize with their own credentials to start using it.
Not set up on the Talkpush MCP yet? Head to Getting Started with Talkpush MCP first to understand what it does and grab your credentials.
Gemini Enterprise
To connect the Talkpush MCP to Gemini Enterprise, you will need a Google Cloud project with access to a billing account, as well as an active application to connect the Talkpush MCP as a data store. You may follow the previous links for information on this if your organization does not have a Gemini application set up.
As an admin for your organization, you will need to have access to the app and to the creation of data stores within the application. Once you have that, you may follow these steps:
Adding the Talkpush MCP as a data store
Under data stores, choose + Create data store
Here, search for "Custom MCP Server" and select it.
A form will pop up. Navigate to the Integration Setup section in the Talkpush MCP portal and select Gemini Enterprise in the Set up your platform step.
Fill out the form with the values provided in the instructions.
Copy and paste them, and choose Login
You'll be prompted to connect to the Talkpush MCP, using the credentials generated in previous steps
After successful connection, press the Continue option. You will be asked for a description and instructions. These values are also provided in the Integration Setup's Gemini Enterprise instructions. Fill in the fields using those values.
Finally, you'll need a name. We suggest simply "Talkpush".
Once created, head to the Actions section of your data source, choose all needed actions and enable them. If they don't show up, you might need to Reload custom actions.
Congrats! You've added the MCP and all its actions as a data store.
Connecting the Talkpush MCP data store to your application
Choose the Gemini Enterprise application you wish to connect to the Talkpush MCP.
From here, go to Connected data stores.
Choose "Add existing data stores"
Choose the Talkpush data store and click Connect to add it to the app.
Done! You may now open your app.
Using the Talkpush MCP within your custom Gemini Enterprise App.
These are the steps to follow if you are just the app end user and the MCP has already been added as a data store.
Under connectors, find the Talkpush MCP connector.
Click on Authorize
Enter the credentials generated in previous steps from the Talkpush MCP portal
You'll know it's done once it is toggleable.
Done! You can now use the talkpush MCP from conversations within this app.
