Get Notified the Moment It Matters

Unread indicators, a redesigned notification centre, and bot status keep you in control.

Written by Crismin Joy Lagamayo

Know exactly who's waiting on a reply, catch every update the moment it happens, and see at a glance whether the bot or you is talking to a candidate. These updates span your Leads views, the notification centre, and the bulk-job progress panel — giving you a clearer, faster read on your pipeline.

What It Does

Unread candidates. A green dot appears on a candidate's photo the moment they reply, in both the classic sidebar list and the table view, and stays until you open the conversation. The Unread switch above the list filters your entire pipeline — not just the rows on screen — so it holds as you scroll and page. Unread status is personal to each recruiter, and the switch is hidden inside the deleted folder and during bulk selection, where it wouldn't apply.

The notification centre. Clicking the bell now opens a full-height panel instead of a small box. It's split into All, Messages, and Updates, each showing an unread count. You get an Unread switch, mark all as read, and a newest/oldest sort. Message notifications now show the message text, and each conversation gets one entry instead of one per reply.

Opening a candidate from a notification. Clicking a notification slides the panel left and opens the candidate's full profile beside it — the same profile you'd see from the Leads page, with the same tabs and actions. Clicking the same person again closes it; clicking a different person swaps it in place.

Bot reply status. A strip at the top of each conversation now states plainly whether the Bot is replying or You're replying, with a button to pause or resume. On channels with no bot, the strip says nothing rather than implying the bot is off. Sending a message pauses the bot and shows a countdown to when it hands back automatically; using the pause button instead holds it until someone resumes it manually. While the bot is replying, no notification goes out for that candidate — see Who Gets Notified below.

Note: The automatic bot handback now happens 12 hours after your last message, instead of 3 days.

Here's what changes for you day to day:

  • Finding who's waiting on you takes one switch instead of a manual sweep through every conversation.

  • Triaging notifications no longer pulls you off the page you were working on — the candidate opens right beside the list.

  • Spotting a failed bulk job takes one click on a status filter instead of scrolling a long list.

  • Knowing who's talking to a candidate — bot or you — is visible before you read a single message.

  • Getting the right notification — only the recruiter who should act on a reply is flagged, not the whole campaign.

Who Gets Notified

One rule now decides both who sees the green Unread dot and who gets a bell notification for a candidate's reply, so the screen never disagrees with itself after a reload. Deactivated recruiters are always skipped, whichever row below applies.

Situation

Who gets notified

Candidate is assigned to an active recruiter

Only that recruiter — no matter who last messaged the candidate.

Candidate is unassigned, Notify every campaign recruiter is off (default)

Only the recruiter whose message the candidate is answering — the last recruiter who messaged them, including a bulk message, with no time limit.

Candidate is unassigned, Notify every campaign recruiter is on

Every active recruiter with access to the campaign.

Bot is replying to the candidate

Nobody — no notification goes out while the bot is handling the conversation, whatever the setting above is set to.

Note: Reply to an unassigned candidate and you become their assigned recruiter — the Assign on first reply setting, on by default. Their next reply then comes only to you, and the dot clears for every other recruiter, live. Notes, scheduled messages, bulk messages, and automated messages never assign a candidate — only a message you send them right now does.

Turn Notify every campaign recruiter on or off, alongside Assign on first reply, under Company Settings > Communication Settings.

Segments and Statuses

The notification centre and progress panel use the same segment and status logic. Both filters only show options that currently have at least one item.

Segment / Status

What it means

All

Every notification or job, unread and read.

Messages

New candidate replies only.

Updates

Assignments, mentions, and other non-message activity.

Unread

Only items you haven't opened yet, in either panel.

Q: Does the Unread switch affect what other recruiters see?

A: No. Unread status is personal — two recruiters viewing the same candidate see their own read state, not each other's.

Q: Will pausing the bot on one channel pause it everywhere for that candidate?

A: No. Bot status follows the channel you're writing on, so a candidate can be bot-on for one channel and bot-off for another.

Q: What happens to the old 3-day bot handback window?

A: It's been replaced. The bot now hands a conversation back automatically 12 hours after your last message, unless you paused it manually with the Pause bot button, which holds until someone resumes it.

Q: Will I be notified if the bot is replying to a candidate?

A: No. No notification goes out while the Bot is replying badge shows, regardless of your Notify every campaign recruiter setting. Once the bot hands the conversation back — automatically or because you send a message — the normal notification rule applies again.

Q: I'm assigned to a candidate, but a colleague sent their last message. Who gets notified when the candidate replies?

A: You do. Assignment always wins — the assigned recruiter is notified as long as their account is active, regardless of who sent the candidate's last message.
