In recruitment, not every decision can be summed up to 1s and 0s. Employers need to weigh several factors when deciding which candidates should be prioritized to deliver objective and high-quality hiring results. Talkpush has developed a Job Matching Feature, which automates the ranking of incoming applications, determining which applicants are better matched to your position, and thus decides the next step in the recruitment process.

How it works

The Job Matching System works at the Talkpush Campaign Level, where you can pick relevant Candidate Attributes and assign a weight to each one according to their importance on a scale of 1-100%. After candidates complete their prescreening, a weighted score will be generated on the Candidate Profile. The Job Matching score can then be used to trigger an Autoflow sequence and move candidates to different Campaigns or Folders.

Configuring the Job Matching Feature in 3 Steps

To configure the Job Matching Feature, follow these steps:

  1. Pick the parameters: Select which parameters to be considered for the Job Matching score from any type of question.

  2. Weighing each item: Customize the answer's value as a percentage of 1 to 100%.

  3. Activate via Autoflow: Configure an Autoflow sequence to trigger Job Matching.

Step 1: Pick the parameters

The first step involves selecting the parameters you'll consider for the final applicant score. You will see all your available options in the drop-down menu, with its corresponding weight next to it. You can move the percentage slider to adjust the values or manually input each percentage.

Considerations:

  • As a precondition, your selected questions must be associated with a Candidate Attribute.

  • The Job Matching Feature is compatible with all question types with associated Attributes.

  • To 'Save' your configurations, the Cumulative Weight of each Candidate Attribute must be 100%.

Step 2: Weighing Items

The second step is to add a % weight to each Attribute. The way the Matching works will vary according to the compatible Question Types:

  • Geolocation: The Geolocation Question Type has a fixed set of options (Within 2, 5, 10, and 20 km); you can assign a percentage value to each distance range.

  • Other question types: Assign a % value to each value on a 1-100% scale.

⚠️ To reduce the error margin when setting up the options for a parameter, we recommend setting Suggested Values for each Candidate Attribute. If you're an Owner, you may limit parameters to the Suggested Values to have more control of the input.

Step 3: Job Matching via Autoflow

To generate the Job Matching score, you must trigger it via Autoflow. This allows you to ensure the score is only generated once all the critical data you wanted to collect is there and to ensure consistency in the scoring between applications. It also allows you to score your candidates at the point of the recruitment process that works best for you.

To start Job Matching, please set up an Autoflow as follows:

  1. Select a trigger and include the Candidate Attributes you want to score, configured previously in the Job Matching settings. For example, Admired Brands (the Candidate Attribute) is present (the Autoflow operator).

💡 Tip: If all attributes are populated during the prescreening, you do not need to add every single attribute to this trigger, you can add the Last Candidate Attribute displayed in the Job Matching configuration.

Note: If you're using TalkScore, always include it as a Candidate Attribute in the Autoflow Setup.

  • Add Action > Trigger Job Matching

  • Save & done! The candidate's Job Matching will be determined.

Now that the Job Matching score is generated, what can you do with it?

See it in the Candidate Profile

Once the Job Matching Score has been assigned to a candidate, it will be displayed as a Tag in their profile.

Search candidates based on their Job Matching scores

With the Candidate Attribute: Job Matching, you can filter candidate results based on their Job Matching score.

Decide the next step in the candidate's journey

You can use Autoflow and the generated Job Matching score to decide what will happen next in the candidate's journey. You can configure who will get rejected or shortlisted based on the score (remember to track the reasons why for reporting purposes).

Q: Does Jon Matching work at the Application Level or Candidate Level?

A: Job Matching works on the Application Level; if a candidate has multiple applications, the Job Matching score will only reflect in those applications in campaigns with Job Matching enabled.
