In our ongoing commitment to GDPR compliance, Talkpush has implemented an automatic deletion process for soft-deleted leads. This ensures that leads marked as soft-deleted for two years will be permanently removed from our database, keeping your recruitment data compliant and up-to-date. Here’s a detailed look at what this update means for managing soft-deleted leads in Talkpush.

Understanding GDPR Compliance

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a data privacy law in the European Union aimed at giving individuals control over their personal data. Compliance with GDPR means handling candidate data responsibly, storing it only as long as necessary, and securely deleting it when it’s no longer needed. This update supports our commitment to GDPR by ensuring that old candidate data doesn’t stay in our database indefinitely.

What Are Soft-Deleted Leads?

Soft-deleted leads are candidates who have:

  1. Been manually deleted from the candidate list

  2. Been inside the Archived Campaigns

These leads remain stored in our database but are no longer visible in active campaigns or candidate lists.

Reversing Automatic Deletion:

If you wish to prevent the automatic deletion of a lead, you can reverse this process under specific conditions. To reset the two-year countdown and keep the lead from being automatically deleted, you must complete both of the following actions:

  1. Restore the Application: Contact our product support team for assistance in restoring the candidate's application.

  2. Edit the Application: You can reset the countdown by taking one or more of the following actions:

    • Send a Message to the candidate.

    • Update Data in the Candidate Profile (e.g., modifying basic information, adding attributes or comments)

Note: Simply restoring the application without making edits will not reset the deletion timer.

Q: How Can You Keep a Record of Soft-Deleted Leads?

A: If you want to retain a record of soft-deleted leads, we recommend Exporting them before archiving or soft-deleting them. This way, you’ll have a downloadable candidate data record should you need it.

Q: Does This Apply to Unsubscribed Applicants?

A: No. Talkpush ensures all data is permanently deleted immediately for candidates who unsubscribe, bypassing the two-year timeline. This helps honor candidate privacy and keeps your database fully GDPR-compliant.

Q: When Did This Process Begin?

A: This automatic deletion process took effect on October 21, 2024.
