Employee Referral System

Hire faster with the power of your network.

Written by Crismin Joy Lagamayo

Employee referrals are one of the easiest and most powerful ways to help your company find great talent—and that's where the Talkpush Referral System comes in. This platform lets you quickly refer people you trust for open roles at your company, track your referrals' progress, and earn recognition for your contributions along the way.

Designed to be fast and straightforward, the Talkpush Referral System connects directly with your company's hiring process, so every referral you submit goes straight into your Talkpush recruitment pipeline. This article covers how to submit a referral, what you'll see on your dashboard, how the leaderboard works, and how to read a referral's status.

Who Can Access

The platform can be accessed by two user types: Referrers and Admins.

Referrers can:

  • Submit referrals for positions in their company

  • Track their own submitted referrals

  • View personal statistics and achievements

  • Participate in the company leaderboard

Admins can:

  • View all referrals submitted to their company

  • See all referrers (employees) in their company

  • Manage users within their company

  • Access company-level analytics and leaderboard

To access the Employee Referrer Portal, please contact your Account Manager.

How to Refer a Candidate

Follow these steps to submit a referral:

  1. Open the referral link shared by your company.

  2. Enter your Full Name, Corporate Email, and Employee ID (optional).

  3. Check your email for a 6-digit verification code, and enter it to confirm your identity. Note: If you don't receive a code, use Resend Code or Use a Different Email.

4. Select the Position you're referring the candidate for from the searchable dropdown.

5. Enter the candidate's Full Name, Email, and Phone number (including country code).

6. Click Submit Referral.

Once your referral is submitted, you'll get a confirmation and the option to check your dashboard or refer another candidate.

Your Dashboard

While all users can access the Dashboard, what you see depends on your access level.

For Referrers

As a Referrer, your dashboard tracks several metrics:

  • Total Referrals: All-time count of submitted referrals

  • This Month: Current month's referrals with percentage change

  • Hires from Referrals: Number of successful placements

  • Hire Rate: Conversion rate percentage

For each of your referrals, you'll see the candidate's name and email, along with their application progress and status. You can search your referrals by candidate name or email.

Your dashboard also shows a compact Leaderboard widget with the top referrers for the current month and your own ranking. For the full view, see the Leaderboard section below.

Lastly, you'll earn achievement badges based on your referral activity. There are 18 badges to unlock, including First Referral, First Hire, Talent Scout, Super Referrer, Rising Star, Hiring Hero, and Legend. These are found at the bottom of your dashboard.

For Admins

As an Admin, your dashboard gives you visibility across your whole company. You'll see the complete list of candidates referred to your company, along with:

  • Total Referrals (company-specific)

  • This Month count

  • Hires from Referrals

  • Company Hire Rate

Your All Referrals table shows each candidate's name and email, who referred them, the position, the submission date, and their status. You can search by candidate name or email, and filter the list by status.

You can also manage your company's users from the Users page: view all employees registered in the system, and add new employees as a User or Admin.

Leaderboard

The Leaderboard tab shows top referrers with a podium display for the top 3 performers. You can filter by This Month, This Quarter, This Year, or All Time, and each entry shows both referral count and hire count.

There are two views:

  • Company Leaderboard: Top referrers within your own company

  • Global Leaderboard: Top referrers across all companies using the platform, including each referrer's company affiliation

Statuses

While each candidate goes through their application process, they will be labeled with a status that matches the process in Talkpush. These are the statuses in which the referrals can be found:

Status

Color

Description

Pending Completion

Orange

Candidate is in the Inbox/Pending folder in Talkpush. The application was created but the candidate has not finished the process.

In Review

Blue

Candidate is actively being evaluated. They are in any folder other than Inbox/Pending, Rejected, or Hired, and are not a duplicate.

Hired

Green

Candidate is in the Hired folder in Talkpush. The recruitment process was successful.

Not Selected

Red

Candidate is in the Rejected folder in Talkpush. They were reviewed but did not move forward.

Already in System

Gray

Candidate is a duplicate. This person was previously referred by the same employee or someone else and already exists in the system.

A referral typically moves from Pending Completion, to In Review, to a final outcome of Hired or Not Selected. Already in System appears immediately if the candidate was previously referred.

What Happens After You Submit a Referral

Once you submit a referral, the candidate is automatically created in your company's Talkpush pipeline and placed in the Inbox/Pending folder. They then receive an invitation message (via SMS, email, or WhatsApp, depending on the position's setup) to complete their application. When they follow the link and complete the application, your recruiting team takes it from there, and the status on your dashboard updates automatically as they move through the pipeline.

Note: If a referred candidate doesn't receive an invitation, ask your Admin to confirm that invitation messages are enabled for the position in Talkpush. Only users with Admin access can check this setting.
