Conversational Recruiting with the Talkpush AI Chatbot

Deliver human-like conversations at scale with a multilingual, fully integrated chatbot built for hiring through WhatsApp & Messenger

Written by Crismin Joy Lagamayo

The Talkpush AI Chatbot is a recruitment-focused, text-based assistant that lives natively inside the Talkpush platform. Designed to engage candidates through natural conversation, it automates pre-screening, answers FAQs, and provides timely updates, all directly within Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

Whether you're hiring in-store, online, or across multiple countries, the AI Chatbot helps you connect with candidates where they are, reducing friction and increasing application completion rates across your sourcing channels.

Key Capabilities

💬 Text-Based Natural Language Chat

Candidates interact using free text (and voice, where available), just like chatting with a recruiter. There's no need for decision trees, buttons, or structured forms. The bot accurately captures intent and records structured responses inside Talkpush.

👩‍💻 Organic Traffic Conversion

Candidates entering from job boards, websites, or social media often start conversations casually. The AI Chatbot engages with users naturally through pre-screening and application steps.

ℹ️ Rich Job Information on Demand

Candidates can ask about job details, and the chatbot responds with complete information, including:

  • Responsibilities

  • Office location and work hours

  • Required documents

  • Compensation and benefits

  • Steps in the recruitment process

📲 Real-Time Application Updates

Because the chatbot is fully integrated with Talkpush, it can pull live data and respond to status-related questions like:

  • "Have you received my application?"

  • "What's next in the process?"

  • "Why haven't I been contacted yet?"

This improves transparency and reduces the need for manual recruiter follow-ups.

🌐 Multilingual, Multichannel Support

Our AI bots are available on your career website, via SMS, email, or any messaging apps (including Messenger and WhatsApp). Charges may apply for activating some channels. The chatbot supports over 50 languages and adapts to the candidate's language automatically

Key benefits:

  • No need for candidates to choose a language

  • No separate configuration per market

  • Unified candidate experience across channels

  • Lower drop-off rates due to language confusion

🖼️ Rich Media Messages (Images & Videos)

The AI Chatbot can now send images and videos to candidates during a conversation — product photos, instructional videos, office location maps, or a branded welcome image.

Your Talkpush team uploads and names each media asset, then links it to your assistant so the bot can send it at the right moment in the conversation. Supported formats include JPEG and PNG for images, and MP4 (or a link to a hosted video) for video.

Note: Media size and format limits vary by channel. If a file exceeds a channel's limit, the bot falls back to a text message instead of failing silently.

Note: Media configuration is managed by your Talkpush team. Contact your Account Manager to add or update media assets for your assistant.

🎠 Interactive Messages on Messenger

On Facebook Messenger, the AI Chatbot can send quick reply buttons, image cards, scrollable carousels, button templates, and call-to-action (CTA) URLs. This lets candidates tap to respond — for example, browsing a carousel of open positions or tapping Apply Now instead of typing a reply.

All interactive content is pre-authored by your Talkpush team for each assistant. The bot doesn't generate cards or menus dynamically — your team creates and maintains the content in advance.

⚠️ On WhatsApp, interactive elements aren't supported natively. When an interactive message is triggered on WhatsApp, the bot sends the same options as a text message with numbered choices instead.

Recruiter Benefits

📈 Higher Application Completion Rates

By offering a flexible, mobile-first experience, more candidates complete their pre-screening, especially in regions with lower literacy or bandwidth.

☀️ Reduced Repetitive Work

The chatbot automatically handles questions about job requirements, locations, steps, and timelines, eliminating the need for FAQ templates or repeated outreach.

🏷️ Structured, Accurate Data

Even when candidates respond informally or out of order, the AI interprets and records answers cleanly in the candidate profile, improving profile quality and downstream automation.

Setup & Deployment

The chatbot is built into Talkpush, no need for third-party tools or complex integrations. It operates across your existing campaigns and workflows inside the dashboard your team already uses.

After discussing the feature with your Account Manager and providing the requirements, you can go live in as little as 1–2 business days.

Here's how:

  1. Select the campaigns where the chatbot will be active

  2. Upload your FAQ content and job data (or let us extract it for you), i.e:

    1. Required documents

    2. Benefits and salary

    3. Cultural and brand insights

  3. Activate, it's ready to use immediately and can be updated at any time.

Analytics & Optimization

With native analytics in Talkpush, you can track:

  • Pre-screening completion rates

  • Average time to complete an application
Use these insights to continuously refine your flows and improve conversion.

📊 Ad Source Tracking

For candidates who enter through an ad, the candidate profile now shows a source value that identifies both the ad type and the platform, not just the ad ID. Supported values are:

  • Lead Ad – Facebook

  • Lead Ad – Instagram

  • Engagement Ad – Facebook

  • Engagement Ad – Instagram

  • Engagement Ad – WhatsApp

Note: Lead Ad – WhatsApp doesn't exist as a source type.

This gives you visibility into which ad campaigns and platforms are actually driving completed conversations, so you can measure ROI per channel and ad type.

Note: Source tracking applies only to new applications submitted after rollout. Past applications keep their original values.

🔐 Compliance & Data Protection

GDPR & SOC 2 Aligned

Talkpush is compliant with global privacy standards. Candidate data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Consent-First Collection

The chatbot informs candidates and requests consent before collecting personal data. Candidates can opt out at any time.

Fully Auditable

All interactions are logged with timestamps, transcripts, and consent records—useful for audits, internal reviews, or responding to data subject requests.

Q: How many campaigns can the AI Bot support?

By default, the bot can connect to up to 30 campaigns from your CRM. This limit is configurable — if your account needs to display more, contact your Account Manager. You can always move candidates between campaigns, rather than keeping a large number of campaigns active at the same time.

Q: Why doesn't the bot show all campaigns in a single message?

The campaign connection limit and the per-message display limit are two separate things. Each WhatsApp message bubble has a maximum of 2,000 characters. Depending on how long your campaign names and details are, the bot typically displays 10–15 campaigns per message — even if more campaigns are connected. If candidates are not seeing a specific campaign, contact your Account Manager to review your configuration.

Q: What happens if a media file I want to send is too large or an unsupported format?

The messaging platform (Meta, for WhatsApp and Messenger) rejects media that exceeds its size or format limits. The bot falls back to a text message so the conversation isn't interrupted. Contact your Account Manager to review the file.

Q: Can I create interactive carousels or button menus myself?

Not directly. Interactive content is pre-authored by your Talkpush team for each assistant. Contact your Account Manager to request new or updated interactive content.

Q: Does ad source tracking apply to applications from before the feature launched?

No. Source tracking only applies to new applications submitted after rollout — past applications aren't relabeled.
