E-Signature is a question type that lets candidates sign the way they would in any e-signature tool — drawing, typing, or uploading an image of their signature. Each signature is saved with an audit trail and a downloadable certificate, so you have a record of who signed, when, and how.
Important: E-Signature captures an audit-trailed signature for your own records. It isn't a certified e-signature product like DocuSign, and it isn't a replacement for Talkpush + DocuSign where a certified, compliance-grade signature is required.
What It Does
An E-Signature question has no options and no Data Map — the answer is an image, not a value that maps to a candidate attribute. A Timer can still be set. E-Signature isn't supported on voice (IVR) calls; chat channels support it through a signing link instead (see below).

After the candidate confirms their signature, a signed PDF certificate is generated within about ten seconds and filed under the candidate's Documents, tagged E-Signature — the same way other tagged documents are picked up by integrations like DocuSign.

How It Looks for the Candidate
Careers page and landing page
Candidates click Add signature to open the Add your signature dialog, with three tabs: Draw, Type, and Upload. After confirming the statement acknowledging it's a legal representation of their signature, they click Insert. The signature appears in a card, with the option to remove it and sign again.
Chat (WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS)
Chat can't capture a signature directly, so each candidate receives a secure link to a signing page for that question. On WhatsApp and SMS, the link is sent as text; on Messenger, it comes with a Sign here button. The link is valid for two weeks and only accepts a signature for that specific question. Once signed, the interview continues automatically in chat.
AI interview agent
The AI interview agent sends the same signing link and reminds the candidate to use it if they reply in chat instead. It automatically picks up the completed signature on the candidate's next message.
Voice
E-Signature questions aren't asked over a voice call.
How It Looks in Talkpush
Go to Campaign Settings > Questions inside the campaign.
Click Add Question.
Select E-Signature from the Question Type dropdown.
Set a Timer, if needed.
Click Save to use it for this campaign only, or Save as Template to add it to the shared Question Template Library.
Note: The same setup is available from the Question Template Library (Templates > Questions) — it's the same question editor, just reached from a different tab.
Once a candidate signs, their signature image and a caption appear in the Screening tab and the conversation timeline, and the signed certificate appears in the Documents tab.
Q: Is this a legally certified e-signature? A: No. It's an audit-trailed signature with a certificate for your own records, not a certified e-signature product. For compliance-grade signing, use Talkpush + DocuSign.
