Dates, time zones and data freshness

Understand which dates the reports use and how fresh the data is

Written by Kyla Landicho

Dates and time zones

  • Company time. Most reports place a lead on the day it happened in the company’s own time zone.

  • UTC in Communications. The Communications report uses UTC calendar dates, and says so on the page. Around midnight, a message can fall on a different day than in local time.

  • Two timestamps. Each report shows when it was generated and when its data was last updated.

  • Recent leads grow. Measures like hire rate count what has happened so far. A lead added last week may still be in process, so the rate for recent periods rises over time.

Report generated vs data updated

At the top right of every report card you will see two lines. They answer two different questions.

What it means

Report generated at

09 Oct 2026, 05:28 GMT+8

The moment your browser built this report, using your clock. It changes every time you select Apply or reload the page.

Data updated at

09 Oct 2026, 04:10 GMT+8

The last time fresh data was loaded into the reporting database for this company. It only changes when a new load arrives.

Both times are shown in your own time zone, with the zone abbreviation next to them. The example above is only an illustration.

How to read “Data updated at”

  • It is not the current time. Reports read from a reporting database that is refreshed in cycles, roughly every four hours, several times a day. Anything that happened after the “Data updated at” time is not in the report yet.

  • The gap is normal. If “Report generated” is 05:28 and “Data updated” is 04:10, the report is complete up to 04:10. A new lead who applied at 05:00 appears after the next load.

  • Today’s numbers are partial. The most recent day in a date range can keep growing until the next load lands. Compare complete days, or give it a few hours, before drawing conclusions about “today”.

  • It is per company. It is the latest load for the company you selected. If you switch company, the time can change.

  • It shows “checking…” for a moment after you select Apply, then the time. If the line stays empty, the company has had no recent applications to measure from. Reload and try again, and tell us if it keeps happening.

  • It can lag a little. The time is looked up at most about twice an hour per company, so right after a new load lands, the label can show the previous load for up to half an hour.

Which data does it track?

The time comes from the load of application data, the same data most reports are built on. It is shown on every report, including Communications, whose messages and calls are loaded separately and may be a little ahead or behind that time. For Communications, remember that dates are in UTC while this timestamp is in your time zone.

Which one should I quote?

When you share numbers, include Data updated at. It tells the reader how fresh the data is. “Report generated at” only says when you ran the report. The image and PDF exports include the generation time in their header.
