When you turn on booking after the AI Interview, your Booking question opens as soon as a candidate finishes their AI Interview, so they can pick a recruiter interview slot in the same sitting.
This matters because every step between the interview and the booking is a chance to lose a candidate. Instead of waiting for a notification and opening a separate scheduling link, candidates click Continue and book while they’re still engaged. Your recruiters get interviews on the calendar without chasing candidates for a time slot.
How Recruiters Use It
Speed matters most in high-volume hiring, but not every role should let every candidate book a recruiter interview.
Use case | When it helps | What you get |
High-volume roles with a short hiring window | You need candidates on the recruiter calendar the same day they apply. | Interviews booked while candidates are still engaged, with no follow-up messages to send. |
Roles where every applicant gets a recruiter conversation | The AI Interview informs the recruiter interview but doesn’t decide who moves forward. | A complete flow from prescreening to booking in one sitting. |
Roles with a minimum score requirement | Only candidates who meet a TalkScore or CEFR threshold should book. | Use Autoflow instead, so the Booking question goes out after results are processed. See Book Only Qualified Candidates below. |
Before You Start
Make sure your campaign has the following in place:
An AI Interview that candidates take in their browser.
A Booking question placed after the AI Interview in the candidate journey, using Recruitment Center scheduling.
A Recruitment Center connected to the campaign, with opening hours set and upcoming time slots available.
Turn On Booking After the AI Interview
You turn this on from the Booking question itself.
Open the campaign that contains your candidate journey.
Open the Send Question Set Autoflow settings.
Select the Show it right away if the candidate is still on the careers page checkbox.
Click Save. Candidates who finish the AI Interview see a Continue button that leads to this Booking question.
What the Candidate Sees
Once the setting is on, the candidate’s flow looks like this:
The candidate completes the AI Interview.
The You’re all set! screen shows a green Continue button.
The candidate clicks Continue. The scheduling calendar opens right away.
The candidate picks a time slot and confirms the booking, the same way as any Booking question.
Note: Candidates can book as soon as the AI Interview ends, before results such as TalkScore or CEFR level are processed. Processing can take a few minutes, so any candidate who finishes the interview can book, regardless of their score.
Book Only Qualified Candidates
If a minimum score should decide who books, leave the Show it right away if the candidate is still on the careers page checkbox off. Instead, let Autoflow send the Booking question once it processes the AI Interview results. Set the trigger on the result you care about, such as TalkScore or CEFR level, and send the Booking question as the action. See Autoflow Triggers and Autoflow Actions for setup details.
With this approach, candidates receive the booking link in a separate message, so expect some drop-off between the interview and the booking.
Now that you've set up booking after the AI Interview, see Setting up the Recruitment Center to manage the time slots candidates can book.
Q: Can I show the booking calendar only to candidates who pass the AI Interview? A: Not with this setting. Interview results take a few minutes to process, so the calendar can’t wait for a score. Use Autoflow instead, as described in Book Only Qualified Candidates above.
Q: Can a candidate book if the interview didn’t finish as expected? A: Yes. If the interview ends early, for example after a dropped call, the candidate can still reach the booking calendar. Review the candidate’s Enhanced AI Interview Report before the recruiter interview.
Q: What happens if there are no open time slots? A: When near-term slots are fully booked, Talkpush extends the booking window with future days, so candidates don’t see an empty calendar. See Prevent Empty Calendars with the Rolling Booking Window.
Q: Can candidates reschedule after booking? A: Yes. The same rescheduling options apply as for any Booking question. See Booking Question Type: Let Candidates Book Interviews Directly from Landing Pages. |
