The Candidate Experience Editor is a single screen where company owners configure branding and content for the whole candidate journey, preview every change live before saving, and review a log of who changed what.
Note: Only users with Owner access can open the Candidate Experience Editor. Only the New Candidate Experience can be edited and saved here — the Classic experience is always a read-only preview, even if it's the experience your company is currently live on.
Why this elevates the hiring experience
A candidate's first impression of your company is built one screen at a time — the job listing, the application form, the interview, the thank-you page. Every one of those moments is a chance to reinforce your brand, or a chance to lose a candidate to a generic, disjointed experience.
Consistent branding across every touchpoint: your colours, logo, and voice carry through the entire journey — job listing to job page to interview to thank-you — so candidates experience one coherent brand, not a patchwork of screens.
A polished first impression, without the guesswork: see exactly what candidates will see, on the real pages, before anything goes live — no surprises after publishing.
Your brand, on your terms: make branding and copy changes yourself, in minutes, without waiting on Talkpush support to make them for you.
A stronger candidate experience, at your own pace: build out and preview the New Candidate Experience fully before committing, then switch it on in Company Settings when you're ready to elevate the whole journey.
A candidate journey that feels considered and on-brand — from the first click to the final thank-you — builds trust before a single interview even happens, and that shows in how candidates perceive your company as an employer.
Opening the editor
Go to Settings › Candidate Experience in the sidebar, or open the company menu in the header and select Candidate Experience under Settings. The editor always opens on the experience your company is currently live on — if your candidates get the New experience, that is what you see first. You can switch to the other side at any time using the Classic | New toggle in the header, but only the New career experience can ever be edited and saved. Switching to Classic — even if that's the side your company is currently live on — only lets you look at it; nothing there can be changed or saved.
The candidate journey panel
The panel on the left shows the full candidate journey as a filmstrip, in the order a candidate meets it: Job listing page, Job page, Your details, Questions, AI Interview Setup, AI Interview, Feedback, and Done. The same eight screens appear on both the Classic and New sides, so the two experiences are directly comparable.
Each card is a live miniature of its real page — real banner, real colour, real copy — and it repaints as you make changes. Click any card to open that screen in the preview and load its settings in the card on the right.
The preview
The preview in the centre shows the real page in an iframe — not a mock-up — rendered at a true device width and scaled to fit. Every screen uses the same fixed sample job so no published campaign is required and no live campaign data leaks into what you are previewing.
Use the Desktop | Mobile toggle in the bottom toolbar to switch between device views. On Mobile, the page renders in a real phone viewport inside a device frame. On the New side, the "eye icon" in the bottom toolbar toggles editing marks on and off — off shows the page exactly as a candidate sees it.
Note: The preview is a design surface only — nothing on it submits, navigates, or records. When you open the AI Interview screen, the interviewer speaks a canned line, but your browser's camera and microphone are never activated.
Editing each screen in the journey
On the New career experience, editable lines of copy are marked with a dashed blue outline. Hover over a line to see a pencil icon, then click to open an inline editor pre-filled with the current text. Confirming your change updates the preview and the journey filmstrip immediately. Nothing is stored until you click Save. Classic pages carry no on-page editing.
The Settings card on the right holds behaviour and media settings — not copy — and shows only what's relevant to whichever screen is selected in the journey panel.
Brand colour can be edited from the settings card on any screen — click the colour swatch to open the picker, choose a colour from the full palette, and drag the slider to select the brightness level, seeing the three tones the colour produces. If you already know your brand colour's HEX code, you can skip the picker entirely and just paste it into the HEX field. It's a single, company-wide setting: no matter which screen's card you edit it from, the change applies across every screen in the New candidate experience, and the preview and the whole filmstrip update live to match.
Job listing page
The first screen candidates see — your published campaigns, displayed for them to browse.
Editable copy: The header text across the top of the listing.
Settings: Banner image upload.
Job page
The page a candidate opens after clicking a job — the details of the role and the option to apply.
Editable copy: The Apply buttons, Other jobs heading, and View all jobs button. The two Apply buttons are one setting — editing either one updates both.
Settings: Default banner image
Your details
Where candidates enter their basic information to start the application.
Editable copy: The heading and lead-in line.
Settings: Consent pop-up text, opened in a rich-text editor beside the card.
Questions
Where candidates answer the campaign's screening questions.
Editable copy: The heading and lead-in line.
Settings: Landing page type (One per screen or Long form) and the back-button switch for One per screen. The choice applies to every campaign.
AI Interview Setup
Prepares candidates for the interview — explains what to expect and gets permissions and consent in place.
Editable copy: The heading, lead-in, What to expect heading, recording consent text, and both button labels.
Settings (New career experience): What to expect — up to five rows, each with an icon, a title, and a description, shown before the interview begins. Rows come pre-filled from the built-in list so you can start editing from real content; writing your own rows replaces the built-in list, and removing every row restores it. A row is flagged if you leave its title or description empty, and Save is held until every row is complete.
AI Interview
The interview call screen itself, where the candidate speaks with the AI interviewer.
Settings (New career experience): Interviewer animation — choose between the animated orb (default) or your own uploaded picture. Click Upload image to add one: JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 1 MB after compression, cropped in the circular crop tool. On the call screen, the picture sits in a circular halo drawn from your brand colour; the ring swells with the agent's speech and settles in the pauses, breathing slowly while the interviewer is silent. Removing the image returns the setting to the orb.
Feedback
Where candidates rate their experience right after the interview.
Editable copy: The title and the invitation to rate.
Done
The final screen, thanking the candidate and showing other openings.
Editable copy: The title and the Other openings heading.
Note: Empty means default — any line you leave blank falls back to the built-in copy in all languages. The Done message under the title and the post-rating thank-you are platform copy and cannot be changed here.
When you save, your copy is automatically translated into the languages your company's campaigns use. Until a translation is ready, candidates read your original words. If no translator is configured on your environment, the editor tells you after saving rather than failing silently.
Saving your changes
Click Save in the header to write your changes to the live site. Save writes only what changed and is disabled until something does. If a What to expect row is missing its title or description, Save is held and shows the reason on hover — an unfinished row would reach candidates as an empty bullet.
If you leave or reload the editor with unsaved changes, you will be asked to confirm before anything is discarded. Nothing anywhere in the editor reaches the live site until Save is clicked.
Note: The Classic | New header switch is a preview only — it does not change which experience your candidates actually get, and it never lets you edit or save the Classic side. To switch your live careers pages between Classic and New, go to Settings › Company settings and use the New Careers Experience toggle at the bottom of the page.
The activity log
Click Activity beside Save to open a log of every change anyone has saved in the editor, newest first. The log is company-wide and visible to all company owners — it is not a per-person history. An unsaved draft survives opening and closing the log.
The log records one row per changed item per Save, including:
Brand colour changes.
Job page and job listing page banner uploads and removals.
The Use across all campaigns toggle.
Every line of copy that changed, named with the page it is on.
Classic landing page settings (landing page type, New landing page design, back button).
Interviewer changes and picture uploads or removals.
The log does not record auto-translations, logo changes (managed in Company settings), or the live Classic/New flag. There is no history from before release.
Use the filters on the left to narrow the log: a time range (preset or custom date range), an Activity Type checklist, and a Users filter (searched by name or email). A filter card shows how many items are selected. Rows load twenty at a time and more appear as you scroll.
Switching between Classic and New careers pages
Company Owners can now switch their live careers pages between the Classic and New experience directly in Settings › Company settings, using the New Careers Experience toggle at the bottom of the page (below SMS Opt-out). When the toggle is off, candidates continue to see the classic pages.
Note: This toggle affects your live careers site immediately on save. If you turn it off, candidates will see the classic pages from that point forward.
Q: Can I look at the other experience even if my company is not on it yet? A: Yes, you can look at both sides using the Classic | New switch in the editor header, regardless of which one your candidates currently get. But you can only edit and save settings on the New career experience — Classic is always a read-only preview, even if it's the side your company is currently live on.
Q: Do changes in the editor affect my live site immediately? A: No. Nothing reaches the live site until you click Save. You can make and review as many changes as you like before saving.
Q: What happens to copy I write if a translation is not available? A: Until the translation lands, candidates read your original words. The editor tells you after saving if no translator is configured on your environment.
Q: Who can see the activity log? A: All company owners. The log shows every change saved by anyone at your company — it is not filtered by person. Non-owners cannot access the editor or the log.
Q: Can I edit campaign-specific content like job titles and descriptions here? A: No. Campaign content stays in the campaign. The editor previews campaign content but never edits it. Use Campaign Settings to update job-specific copy.
Q: What happened to the Landing Pages settings in Company Settings? A: They moved into the editor. The colour theme, landing page type, back button, default job banner, and New landing page design switch now all live in Settings › Candidate Experience. The Job Listing Page screen in the CRM also now points there for its header and banner settings. |
